| Clifden, Connemara offers an abundance
of activities to enjoy. On our
door step there is a scenic walk to Clifden
Castle, built around 1810 by Clifden's founder
John Darcy. For longer walks Connemara
National Park offers various options including
Diamond Mountain. You could try pony
trekking on a nearby beach.
Fresh water fishing
and sea angling are also available
in the locality. Golfing enthusiasts
will be delighted with Ballyconneely
and it's spectacular coastal scenery.
There are great cycling routes
for those on two wheels with bikes for hire in Clifden
town. Inagh Valley must be
seen for it's wild breath taking scenery and Kylemore
Abbey is world renowned for it's Victorian Walled
Garden. Then at the end of the day why not enjoy the
local "craic" and traditional
music played in one of Clifden's many pubs at
night.
Clifden plays host to an annual arts week in September
and has it's famous Horse Show in August showing and
selling the best natured horses in the world, the Connemara
Pony. |
